Established in the year 2010 , this School strives for a
flagship role in transforming youth, home
workers, entrepreneurs’ development works and in-service human resource to the
first rate demand-oriented competitive agri–business and development entrepreneurs, managers and decision-makers. Currently,
the School is imparting education in agri-horticulture through its flexible
need – based, well-defined Certificate and Diploma programmes for learners possessing
10+2 as eligibility for admissions.
The School is in the process of designing new innovative Post
Graduate programmes in agri – business, Agriculture Economics and Agriculture Extension.
The Uttarakhand Open University is the only academic institution of higher
learning in the State where a Department of Development Studies has been
established in 2013 in this School. Programmes, viz., Post Graduate Diploma and
M. A. in Development Studies are being framed as future programmes with
emphasis on issues of development in general and in regard to Uttarakhand in
particular.
